  1. Missouri is my home state, and I contributed the fabric showing our state tree, the flowering dogwood. They grow in both white and pink varieties. These pictures were taken in my front yard a couple weeks ago. Enjoy.
  2. NOT MY MACHINE. Spotted this morning on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-APQS-George-Sit-Down-Quilting-Machine-/191564533832?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c9a22d048
  3. RitaR, I'd LOVE to happen onto a deal like that. Message me if you find a similar deal. Drooling . . . :-)
  4. I found it on Etsy. The designer is Krista Hamrick, and I love her art. Might keep an eye on ebay too. This was the only place I found it, and the seller had about 2 yards left. It really is a beautiful piece.
  5. I found the perfect fabric for my backing! It's from 2008 - Blank Quilting. I love it!
  6. Would anyone be willing to post pics of your solutions? I'm a visual learner, and it's hard to picture in my mind these solutions. Y'all are the best. :-) Joni
  7. Someone may be interested in this. (It's not mine. Just sharing info.) Pretty sure it's the same one listed on LongarmUniversity.com for $8K. http://www.ebay.com/itm/APQS-Lenni-Long-Arm-Quilting-Machine-and-10-steel-frame-/231492776638?
  8. Hi Jim! It is the 923 Elite with S/R! Not sure if the S/R is Intellistitch or something else. No indication on the machine head. Believe it to be about a dozen years old, give or take. Can't wait to set her up and start learning. Thanks for your input. I look forward to learning more from all of you as time goes on. Such a great bunch of folks.
  9. I've actually thought about that Sheagatzi! I don't want to be startled either, especially when I'm stitching on a quilt! Makes perfect sense! Yes mine are basement windows as well. I'm thankful for the shared thoughts and advice!
  10. I know you folks are an artistic bunch. I have a question regarding natural lighting. The room where my machine will be has a north-facing window, and a west-facing window. Machine will be positioned across the room in an east-west fashion. I plan to do more freemotion quilting rather than pantos. So . . . which direction would be best for me to place the machine? Free-motion side facing north window, or panto side facing north window? Hope this makes sense.
  11. It doesn't seem real, as I've been waiting for this for such a long time. I had narrowed my search to two brands (APQS, and A-1 because they are local to me). Did my homework; attended some shows, and have read everything I can. Found a used A-1 that should suit me well. It's got some bells and whistles, it's a dozen years old, it's in my price range and is upgradable. I can't wait to get started. I know it was the right decision because I have had absolutely ZERO buyers' remorse. Someday I hope to own a Millie, but for now, I am just so very thankful. I love this forum, and have lea
  12. To Beth Durand, what kind of press? Interested in knowing more. Thanks!
  13. I connected with a sweet lady in my area when I made an appeal a few days ago on this forum. I wanted to "try" an Ultimate II, and she said "come on over." We visited at her kitchen table, and she was so kind to show me her machine, giving me some pointers along the way. Thank you buslady. We made a plan to go to the next local quilt show together, and we both made a new friend today. :-)
  14. Wow, thanks to both of you! I've just messaged "buslady" and I found the Wakefield's under the Dealer listings. Yay! I love how helpful folks are on this forum. :-)
  15. I THINK I'm in the market for an Ultimate II in a few weeks, based on price, but have never used one. Anyone have that model that might be willing to let me test drive it? I'd just like to see if it's a good fit for me. I live near Springfield. Thanks in advance. :-)
  16. How old is this machine (year), and are you the original owner? Thanks much.
