Here are the particulars-- Friday, April 23 7 pm The Minnaert Center for the Arts in Building 21 at the South Puget Sound Community College Tickets--$25 Plenty of parking on campus. Tickets available at www.OlyTix.org or call 360-753-8586--or at the door. The same day in Olympia is the twice-yearly Arts Walk--free, fun and full of art displayed (and some for sale) in almost every business downtown. Quilts from our guild will be on display at a local book store. Saturday, April 24th Washington Stars Quilt Guild Auction at the Thurston County Fairgrounds with Mark as our guest auctioneer. This is a big fund-raiser for us with a progressive silent auction (where tables full of items close to bidding at different times) and the live auction at the end. When this is over, head downtown for a parade--"The Procession of the Species"--a tradition here in Olympia for many years. People dressed as animals, plants, anything from nature--this gets very elaborate with groups of people dancing in costume. Kind of our own little Mardi Gras or Mummer's parade!
