jumpy bumpy machine

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow adventurers. Yesterday my beasty started acting up and I am not sure what to even check. she is jerking when I try to do curves, feels like she is hung up somewhere it is not constant but I will get to moving along pretty good and all of a sudden it is jerking like something is bumping agains it. I have cleaned the rails, cleaned the wheels, checked everything I know to check, even got a string and tied my cord up to the wall thinking that was it, Nope! I know it is probably some simple thing I am overlooking but I am stumped so decided to ask the "experts" (meaning anyone who has been LAing longer than me)

thank you

Bekah, I don't know if this will help or not, but Connie told me last year that if my machine was running jerkily then it was because I had the motor turned too slow for what I was doing. I now turn it up to about 4 and it runs smoother.

Also, is your back take up roller high enough that it is not dragging down your quilting?

That may not be it, but those are things I have had problems with before.
