maggienoella
If you have time, would you tell me how to pin to stabilize wonky blocks or fullness in blocks? And I could use some guidelines in pinning at all. I haven't pinned because I'm afraid I'll hit a pin. I've been trying to find a youtube video so if you could provide a link to something, that would be great and I could learn from there. Thanks, Joan
Busy Quilting
Joan when pinning to stabilise you use flat pins. Dawn Cavanagh uses Clover .55mm x.07mm. I like to use Bohn glass head quilting pins that are 2 1/4" long. I pin stabilise all areas that I am not quilting as I progress down a quilt. The pins are put into the tops parallel to the rollers so you can still roll the quilt up. Pin in the sashing strips to make sure they are straight, by checking using the channel locks. When I go back to quilt an area I remove the pins from the block before I work on it.
