clq-jill
There is a black "button" under the bobbin case on my Millenium. When I am cleaning that area, this button keeps falling off, and black grease gets all over everything. How do I prevent this happening? I can't seem to get the button on tight. John Mitchell
To replace this black cap do the following. Clean all the grease off of the cap and around the shaft that the cover goes over. Use a Q-tip and alcohol or any thing that works for you. It just needs to be clean. Take a drop of super glue and cover the edge of the cap, then snap over the shaft. I have put many of these on the earlier machines and they will normally stay on OK. If you encounter any challenges, call or email me and I'll walk you through it. Good Luck, John
clq-jill
Thanks for the info -- I'm leaving town tomorrow, so will try it when I get back. My machine is new as of October, so I guess I'm surprised this happens. Jill
John Mitchell
Jill: Sometimes the cap will come loose when hit while cleaning. It is not a big issue. They were made for ages without the black cap. Feel free to call or email directly if you need help. Have a safe trip. John
JudyL
Jill: As John said, they're kinda new. The older machines didn't have the cap and occasionally we had to wipe the grease away. While it is a bit frustrating when things fall off, I think it's an easy fix and doesn't really affect the function of the machine. Every time I clean my machine, I kinda halfway expect to knock the cap off although it has never come off. But I love things that can be fixed with super glue!!
