nora123
I have noticed that as my bobbin is used up my tension changes. Has anyone ever noticed this?. Kinda frustrating... Nora Millennium Washougal WA
ffq-lar
Hi Nora, When a bobbin is wound, the outside will be tighter than the inside. It's because as the bobbin winds and the thread builds up on the bobbin-- one revolution will load a longer length of thread but use the same amount of force. That is why the machines with M size bobbins have so many more tension issues than us L size stitchers. I use pre-wound BL almost exclusively--but also wind own So Fine sometimes. I will tighten about half-way through a bobbin if I remember to check. It is more noticable if I wind King Tut or other thicker thread.
