lucyg
Can anyone tell me about the types of batting, their pros and cons, for hand and machine quilting? Is there a good resource out there - or a quilting magazine article that covers this somewhere? I need a good cheat-sheet to post in my sewing room. Thanks a lot, Lucy
yankiequilter
Lucy, this link was posted on the forum a while back. A lot of good information in the article. You will find that people have their favorite battings, and like or dislike some for a variety of reasons. Somewhat of a personal choice and also dependent on how the quilt will be used. http://www.villagequiltworks.com/image_info/UltimateBattingChart.pdf

ffq-lar
Nancy Goldsworthy has a small, well-written booklet on batting called "Flat or Fluffy". You can order it at Columbia River if you are interested.
