CJQ
I have a pic of a quilt that I am starting in my webshots. It is called snapshots. The pic is in my webshots below. I want to use the spiro thingy in the large squares. They are about 7.5". I don't think that I want designs with a circle around them. Should I do them all the same or switch up the rows, every other? What do you think? Thanks!
circlelord
Jane, The Spiro Thingy has a hundred variations. If you are doing the primary Star, which uses Hole #1, then it is continuous and you don't need a circle. If you are making radiating curved lines as you find in Fans, then, you can either, go up and back, on the same groove, or, sew up one, and down the next . If you leave you S/R on, when you step to the next pin hole, then you will get a spinning blade pattern. Circles are always choice, not automatic. Alternating block patterns always add a diagonal movement to the quilt.
