Starla
Hi ....I haven't posted for awhile...although, I have been reading. A customer brought me Warm and Natural... Soft and Bright Needle Punched Polyester Batting.... Is this good to use on my longarm? Thank you, Starla
Quilting Heidi
Starla good to see you back. It should be fine just make sure you have dimples up.
Starla
Thank you Heidi, The dimples would be the side that is more textured and rough? Starla
ffq-lar
Hi Starla! Soft and Bright is one of my favorites--it quilts beautifully. As for the dimples, hold it vertically with the light shining down on it. The "up" side looks like soft indentations (think "cellulite" :o:P) The reverse is rougher--not as rough as a cotton batting though. You can also tell by the needle punching--the batting should lay so the obvious needle holes go from the top through to the bottom. Have fun and nice to see you posting again! Sandra Darlington
I just used it on a charity quilt and it seems fine. Of the battings I have bought in JoAnn's (with my 40% off coupons) this is the one I prefer. My favorite battings are from Quilter's Dream. yankiequilter
I used Soft and Bright just once and it bearded through the back. The backing was black Kona and oh what a mess! I hated that quilt and couldn't get rid of it soon enough! :P:P I know, should have used black batting, but I'd never had a problem prior to this experience. I've only quilted for myself so can't even blame a customer! My rule for which side up on the batting is, "Bumps on the Bottom!"
