shirleyl
I need to make 1/2" bias tape to make stems for an applique project. It says to use a bias tape maker, I know what they are, what they look like etc, however, I would have to order one. Anyone know how to make the tape without the thingymabob. I wanted to be done this weekend, so ordering one is not in the works, there are none for sale locally.
sewcrazy4quilting
Joanne fabrics has all of the standard sizes of bias tape folders. I make my own 1/2" all the time. Cut 2" strips on the bias, join the strips together with a diagonal seam to make the tape as long as you need it. Fold and press the strips in half. Then open the tape back up and fold each of the edges to meet in the center pressing as you go down the whole tape. then Voila you have bias tape. Clear as mud right. Good luck
shirleyl
Okay, that is kind of what I thought. Joann's would be nice, but the nearest one is 3 hours away. Just living in the sticks of Wyoming, we have fabric storess (4), but none with this little goodie. Shirley
