happymountainmom
Does anyone know how to put the cable back on the motor? I was instructed to take it off and center the connection for the quilter on the cable and wind it back on but it's not going back on the motor, it just jumps off. I was having problems with the cable being too loose causing my machine to jump.
APQS
Hi You may be able to get it on without releasing it from the drive motor so try this first: Loosen the set screw that is in the middle of the slider bar on the right hand end of the table and loosen the long bolt on the side and see if you can get the wire into the groove of the pulley on the motor. If you can then tighten the long bolt that goes into that slider so that the slider moves to the right. This will tighten the wire then you should tighten the set screw. If that doesn't do it enough: If its the x axis cable, put the machine head in the centre of the table, if its the y axis cable put the head in the centre of the carriage Remove the cable block that the wire goes through On the right hand side of the table (if its the x) loosen the screw in the slider so that the slider can move. Get a 6/32 allan key and loosen the allan key on the drive motor on one side only to release the wire Rewind the wire onto the drive pulley and insert the end of the wire into the hole and replace the allan key and tighten it back down. Wind the drive pulley until the wire is coming off through the centre of the drive pulley drum - this is very important. Adjust the slider on the right hand side of the table by screwing the long bolt in as far as you can finger tight and then tightening the centre screw to hold the slider in place. The top of the wire should be running straight without sag. If it is sagging, loosen the screw and tighten the side bolt further and re tighten the centre screw. If the slider is as far right as it will go and you still appear to have too much slack in the wire - call your installer for instructions on shortening the wire a little. (If it has beenstitching well to date you probably wouldn't need to do this) Replace the tension block on the wire at the centre (this is important) of the table and tighten the chrome plate so that the wire sits in the groove of the black tension block and cannot slide sideways along the wire. Good luck Sue
