ffq-lar Posted September 16, 2006 Report Share Posted September 16, 2006 Hi-- One square of the pattern is called Jacob's Ladder and according to Fons and Porter was first published in the 1898 Ladie's Art Company catalog under the name "The Railroad". Usually the small center diagonal-set squares are set in alternating directions across the rows and you get a four patch in each "corner"--one dark and other light. Hope I explained this correctly.
