ffq-lar Posted June 2, 2012 Report Share Posted June 2, 2012 Hi Ann. It's because out-of-country spammers are registering and posting inane comments and advertising on these buried posts. They hope someone will click on their website or link. Then they usually hit and run, and Dawn has to clean up the mess. When the offending post is removed, the old post returns to it's former spot determined by the date of the last post. If someone replies to the bad post, after removal the old post will stay in it's new spot determined by the date of the last legit reply. Sigh. Dawn notified us that they are working on a better filter for the chat. It costs the spammer nothing but time to register and post. And sometimes they are paid by the number of hits they get in a day. So please don't encourage them by clicking on a link--- even if shoes, jerseys, furniture, hydroponics, or purses are something you are interested in..... Then they are great to read or review. Unfortunately, the old posts with questions that have been answered years ago, problems that are now moot, and newbie announcements for members who are now veterans--only an annoyance!
