Stitches
For the first time, I was asked to make and sew bias binding to a round quilt. I am at a lose as to how much to charge. I know that some quilters around my area charge $20.00 an hour, but this lady would be very upset with what would be charged! She did not ask what I would charge, she just wanted me to do it. Thanks, Donna
Sandra Darlington
For regular binding I charge $.25 a linear inch to make the binding with customer's fabric, machine sew it to the front & hand stitch it to the back. The fabric would be cut selvage to selvage. I have not made actual bias binding for a customer, so don't know if I would charge differently. Neher-in-law5
Bias cut binding wouldn't really be any harder to prep than crosscut binding. It would cost more if you need to supply any of the fabric to make it because it will take more.
Stitches
Making continuous bias binding seems to be more time consuming, this is why I wasn't sure what to charge. I too charge .25 for straight of grain binding, made and sewn to quilt. Donna
