try2hard
Hello fellow quilters! I need some advice. I have 2 cats in my home and whenever I am not in my office quilting, I shut the door so that they will not get on the quilts while they are on the frame, (causing a big sag!) LOL Well, the other day, I forgot to close the door and my big cat, Tickles, jumped up and layed right in the middle of my customer's quilt! He is a huge cat (18 pounds) and it created a large sag on the left side of the quilt. I tried removing the tension from the quilt to see if it would return to normal....it's not. I don't know what to do to fix this. Any advice?? The quilt is about half quilted and I would really like to finish it up as I have 3 more lined up. Thanks in advance, Nick :-)
PennyStreeter
Gosh, not sure if this would work, but try a light spray of water and retighten. I had the same problem with my cat's on my hand quilting frame. I now have a peice of plexiglass that I lay on the quilt when I walk away. It's a bit of a pain but stops the sags. Good luck
SonjaHammond
I had the same thing happen. I have a steamer I used on the area that was sagging. Then let the quilt dry over night. I had to do this twice before it came back into shape. I have done this also with a steam it just takes longer. Hope this helps.
