Housewren
Help. Anyone know a great way to remove pencil marks? I have an all white quilt with quite a bit of marks and need to find a way to remove them. It's my own quilt, so I'm okay with heavy duty scrubbing... even had it on the driveway, hosing it down... still marks. I'd love any help you can offer! Thanks, Ann
yankiequilter
Sew Clean is an all natural spot and stain remover. On the bottle the label reads: Removes ball point pen ink, pencil & crayon marks, lipstick & make-up, fingerprints, blood, grass stains, oil & grease, rust stains, coffee & soft drinks, chewing gum...and a lot more! Some quilt shops carry it, else Pam Clark sells it on her web site. Wishing you good luck getting out the pencil marks.
LynnQuilts
This is off the quilthistory.com site: To remove pencil marks, try this recipe: 1/4 c water, 3/4 c. rubbing alcohol, 7-8 drops of Palmolive detergent, Apply with toothbrush. I've used it before and it worked for me.
Luz2Quilt
Denatured alcohol has worked for me in the past. Good luck.
