CherylUribe
You may need a new screw. Sometimes they wear and need to be replaced. Take the screw out and see if it is worn on the end.
Myrna Ficken
Yikes that's not a good thing, sounds like a good idea to check it. Myrna
QuiltedCat
Hi OregonCarol: My needle kept droping out when I had my Ultimate 1. I went to an auto supply and purchased a new screw to fix it. Make sure the hole for the screw is not cross threaded, if it is, you will need to "tap" it and use a larger screw. I had to use two screws, one one each side to keep the needle in. Amy Stuart - APQS Service
Have you had any luck with getting your needle to stay in? One thing to try is to thread the screw all the way in to the needlebar - to make sure there isn't a burr keeping the screw from tightening all the way. Also, try the other side of the needlebar. And, use a longer screwdriver when tightening the screw in - a screwdriver with a short handle doesn't give you as much torque as a longer handled one! You can purchase replacement screws from us, of course, but you can also find one that will work at your local hardware store - you need one that has 4-40 thread and is at least 3/16" long.... Hope this info helps you....
