Terri C.
A couple questions. I believe they are called the black encoder boxes, there are two at the back of the machine and each one has a small rubber wheel that rolls against the other wheels, my question is, are the rubber ones suppose to be up tight to the wheels or just touching them? The bottom one I can put my finger on the rubber wheel and roll it but the top one I can't move with my finger before I made adjustment I wanted to see what one is correct. By adjusting one or both of these will that help to stop my needle from going up and down while in S/R mode but not moving the machine or will I have to take off the top and adjust the screw in there? Thank you for any and all help.
John Mitchell
The encoder wheels should be firmly against the wheel. you might be able to turn is if you force it. If you getting correct stiches in SR mode they are probably OK. They have nothing to do with the needle speed during Single Stitch. See this thread for adjustment of needle speed. http://www.apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=5876 John
