Sherri_67
One of the ladies dropping her quilt off today is 90 years old and she hand pieced her whole top. She would like me to bind it for her as she is having a hard time doing anymore sewing. Should I charge her? What is the going price for this as I have never even thought about binding someone elses quilt.
Bonnie
I charge $1.50 per linear foot.....measure all four sides divide by 12 and multiply by $1.50 (76+76+85+85=322" / 12 * $1.50 = $42.25) sometimes it comes out more than the price of the quilt but I use a french binding method with hand finishing on the back...I don't machine bind. Hope this helps... Bonnie

White Rooster
I charge $.15 per inch to machine sew the binding on the top and then hand sew it down on the back. If a client wants it completely sewn by machine (usually for a quilt that will get lots of use) I charge $.10 per inch. Just add up the 4 sides and multiply by the price. Hope this helps.
