Can we take the canvases off, wash and put them back on the rollers?

I was told that they shrink quite a bit. Because mine are over 2 years old I purchased pillow ticking (mentioned on another list) to replace the 2 backing rollers only. It is pretty stiff and I think will hold its shape better - not distorting out of shape on the sides. Using a JoAnns 50% off coupon the cost was quite reasonable.

The original canvas will shrink about 12".

I use pillow ticking; its cheap, stiff, and easily available.

I found the canvases floppy and thin. I folded the edge of the canvas over on all three bars and stitched it with fabric glue. It makes the edge easier to handle and pin.
