The design area is 20 x 20 with a 2 inch and a 3 inch border. (I had to use so much of the challenge fabric.) I do not want to quilt some of the applique as it has faces that have been hand painted and I'm afraid that it will ruin the effect of the total piece. Essentially, I only want to quilt the borders and background spaces around the appplique. The rules call for even quilting, any suggestions for something Halloweenish but not overpowering since piece is so small. FYI, backing has spiderwebs on it.
