simplydivine
I have a Millennium 2005. The hook assembly seems to have a lot of play in it. it's very loose - i can move it left-right by hand. Should this be tightened? (I've never had to re-time my machine. if I tighten it - will I cause a bigger problem?) Just wondering... Julie K
barbm
Julie, the hook assembly will rock slightly, right to left, due to the play required in the area of the hook retaining finger. Beyond that necessary play (which you can see happening if you take your needle plate off), it shouldn't move, unless it is also moving the shaft on which it is mounted. If you're experiencing more than normal play, don't tighten it down until you've either called APQS Service about it, or exchanged emails with them or with Dawn Cavanaugh.
