  1. Hi, am interested in your Baptist Fan Circle Lord giant boards, i sent a pm for shipping estimate. Sharon
  2. Cagey, with piecing it seams like I just know what to do BUT I am relatively new to the art of quilting. I am trying really hard to do more than a meander panto. Yes, I used a panto to do a simple meander--for YEARS on a mid arm, and yes it did permanently attach a top to the bottom with batting in the middle, thus a quilt. But, now I find I want to do more. Soooo I have found Pam Clarkes Designs with Lines books and stencils to be the MOST helpful so far. But I am always open to everyone's suggestions Sharon
  3. Hi again, Sharyn Craig's book Great Sets is on EBay with free shipping right one for $8.69 with free shipping. sharon
  4. Hi Cagey, I would go to the library or book store planning to spend an afternoon and peruse their entire selection of quilt books. Maybe more than one store, afternoon. That would give you some idea as to what you need/want. After narrowing your search look online for used books, Thrift Books and EBay are great sources. Good luck in your search. I don't have one to recommend, I am assuming you are looking for a technique book and there are many out there. Sharon
  5. Wow, it's absolutely stunning. You are very talented, I love it.
  6. Congratulations on your new to you Lenni, you will have so much fun! And, this forum is a great resource, rich with information. If I have an "issue", I just come to this forum and do a search for my question. Yesterday, I was having problems with a tee shirt quilt--my forum search suggested a few things, among them-maybe a larger needle. (Ya think, I can hear it from all the experienced quilters) and viola-problem solved. So thanks for all the quilters who posted not only the questions but those who take the time to post their solutions and opinions as well. Sharon
  7. Libby, it's so beautiful! I love it. Sharon
  8. Hi Tracy, you might try Etsy. I was completing a quilt from 2008 and of course needed another yard of fabric. I found it on Etsy--1 1/2 yards, and under $10, boy did I feel lucky. Hope you are as fortunate as I was. It is the Kansas City Star Circuit Riders Quilt, top is finished, now al I need is the confidence to quilt it. Hopefully that won't take another nine years. LOL Sharon
  9. IMHO or experience, I also had a mid-arm for about five years before I got "Mr Lenni", the skills do transfer---what was wasted was the five years I could have enjoyed a longarm, I just didn't know what I was missing. Anyway I would encourage you to re-think your plan. Mid-arms have their place but are extremely limiting in their capabilities and you will be a much better quilter on a longarm then on a mid-arm. My two-cents.
  10. Love it, very nice, and your binding looks way too good to even give "machine sewn" a second thought!
  11. Yes Jean, I want them, let me know how you would like to be paid and contact info. Thanks Sharon
  12. Hi Jean, I sent you a pm. I am interested in the two remaining King design boards if you would also sell them separately. Thanks, Sharon
  13. HST=half square triangle, I knew that. LOL. It just didn't compute-- senior moment. Thanks, Sharon
  14. Wow, beautiful just beautiful! Absolutely stunning, maybe some day I can be just half that good. I don't know what a HST is, could somebody please tell me?
  15. Wow, all I can say is that your artistic abilities are waaaay over the top! Beautiful work.
  16. Hi, on the APQS website they sell for $11.95 each, sometimes cheaper at other places. Hope this helps.
  17. Do you still have the Pocket Guide and Workbook to Freehanding Heirloom Feathers, OR maybe someone else has one they are willing to sell me? Thanks Sharon
  18. Thanks, I'll search thru another scrap tub then I should be set. It really does sound fun.
  19. You all just talked me into it, this will be my first mystery quilt! I'm collecting my fabrics, and may need more purples (magenta). How many different fabrics of each color choice do I need? This does sound fun. Sharon
  20. Oh, it is beautiful! If I lived closer I would beg for a "play date" with you!
  21. Hi, IMHO Mable may not make it if you don't keep her separated. I have lost a chicken more than once to a bully or two. I have not had good luck adding a new hen to the coop, the established hens just pick on the new girl. If I don't have a rooster I can throw him in with no problems. Good luck, Rhode Island Reds are my favorite breed.
  22. Well I don't usually win so can I have dibs on the winners old machine? I really would like a stitch regulator.
  23. I don't know then---puzzling for sure. When I set up my machine I didn't get my take up leader on totally straight it was off just slightly. It was not noticeable on a small baby quilt, but on my big quilt, the quilt bottom was definitely not square! I readjusted the leader and everything comes out even now.
  24. Hi, I'm new but my suggestion would be to check and make sure your leaders are on the rollers level. You can measure the leaders from the floor up (assuming floor is level). The bigger the quilt the more noticeable the shifting will be. This would be my guess.
