eula
My top thread kept breaking & you all suggested that my top tension might need to be loosened. I loosened it & while I'm sewing across the quilt it sounds like jingle bells. The upper tension is so loose that it sounds like bells ringing. However, the stitch looks ok & my top thread doesn't break as often. What do you think?
Mary Beth
Eula, What kind of thread are you using? I only loosen my tension that much when I use monopoly. Jingle bells huh....well, tis the season
eula
I'm using Bottom Line on top & bottom.
chickenscratch
Try not threading through all the holes of the thread path of your machine. Bottom Line shouldn't need any major tension changes to run through the machine. That's why we all like it so much. How is the bobbin tension? Sue Patten
I love bottom line thread but I run it like cotton thread... meaning I loosen my bobbin tension. I tend to leave my top tension just as it is. It is a very strong thread that can be stitched out at high speeds but you have to loosen the bobbin or your top thread will just keep on breakin... if you loosen the top thread to much it will just dance and jump and loop de loop on ya. Don't give up, reset your top tension the way you normally have it then just loosen up that bobbin till you have a perfect stitch top and bottom.... good luck and let us all know how it turns out for you:D
