She wanted turtles and snails quilted on it in yellow thread. So that's what I did. I'm not sure if I like it, but I hope she does. I'm delivering it this afternoon. I wasn't truly pleased because the batting pokies showed through on the black fabric. But, she loved it so much she is going to have me do 9 more that are the same size, all different patterns. chickenscratch Posted January 30, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 30, 2006 Hi Linda, The turtle is a coloring book picture that I scanned, reduced in size and made a stencil. The snails are a variation of a pattern book I have here. A Treasury of Quilting Patterns for hand or machine quilting. In the book all the snails are going the same way, but I thought that they needed to face each other since the turtles weren't all going the same way. The circles are freehand swirls.
