Grammie
Quilting an applique with light iron on stabilizer. Just filling in some decorative areas and I felt my needle kinda hit something in the machine base. I paused and then slowly proceeded and it did fine for several minutes and then again. I am going slow as I am using metallics to decorate a few areas.
Myrna Ficken
Tammy, please explain (in the machine base) hook assembly? Did you see anything? Was your bobbin in all the way? Did you figure it out yet, or has it stopped? Myrna
Grammie
I kept breaking the needle trying to quilt with this stiff stablizer. It kinda would pop and well it kinda scared me at first. I went back to 4.0 needle (was trying the 3.5) and it didn't happen again. Thanks Myrna. PS. I hope your classes are going well this week. Cheers to all the lucky ones who are attending. I'm jealous.
APQS
I'm glad using the 4.00 seems to be working for you. Perhaps the stabiliser was so thick it was deflecting the needle too much and hitting the bobbin. Are you using metal bobbins. If you are you should check to see if there are burrs and dents on the bobbin now. If there are you should buff them off so that thread doesn't catch on them.
