I selected a picture from my computer, uploaded it to Webshots, copied the URL for 100 pixels size. In another window I opened APQS, went to User Control Panel, Edit profile, pasted the URL for my picture in the space beside avatar, selected "edit" at the bottom of that page, and voila, done.
