heartland
What are some good designs to use on man quilts? I have a carpenter's star quilt coming up that will be for a young man. Any suggestions are welcome. Donna

Busy Quilting
I have used a "Short Circuit" panto made of swirls and squares, very time consuming but looked good stitched out. Baptist Fan whas worked well. "trellis vine" from willowleafstudios Pantograph has a leaf pattern in a v shape and the second row completes the V to make the leaves in a Diamond. Stitches quickly and looks great. I have also got one called "high seas" that are sailing boats on water. Don't think it would suit your stars but. But if you want to do something freehand then try CC's or some line dancing in the blocks. Sashings could be leaves, circles, or what I call my bamboo border. If you can do feathers then do ferns on the spines instead. Lyn
