Bonnie in Ok
not sure how to go about it but do you mark the quilt when it is loaded on the machine or do you mark it before? If you mark it after you load it , how do you mark it without it moving around so much without a flat surface?
Guest Linda S
Bonnie - you can do either. I prefer marking ahead of time with blue pen, miracle chalk or the white clover pens. I do, however, often mark on the quilt when it's loaded using either miracle chalk or the purple air-erase pens. I have a large extended base on my machine and I usually pull the machine head over where I need to mark and then use the marker on the base (if I'm using a pen) or I just dab the miracle chalk on with a sponge brush. Avoid using blue chalk -- it's really hard (nearly impossible) to get out. Linda
Quilting Heidi
Bonnie I usually do both. If it is a design that takes a lot of pre-planning and has to line up with other area's of the quilt then I will pre-mark. If it is just a matter of filling in or doing a small motif then I'll mark when it is on the frame. If I'm using Pam Clark designs then I mark the guide lines as I go.
