I tried a small sample last night and it seems the denim is rather tightly woven like a sheet and the thread wanted to lay on the backing instead of sinking into the batting. Dar Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 Shirley, I just finished quilting a denim/flannel top with a denim backing (not real blue jeans, but more like fabric yardage that resembles denim) and had no trouble. The only place it gave me problems was when I got too close to the intersections of blocks the needle would stick or not go through it. I quickly avoided seams and block intersections. I used a varigated King Tut in the top and So Fine on the bottom and it came out great. I wish I could post pics on this forum and I'd show you.
