Prewound bobbins - I want more

Recommended Posts

I love those prewound bobbins. They run so smoothly and

last so long. I have a bobbin winder but mine seem to hold

way less than prewounds even when I use Bottom Line. Plus

I have to be careful that it winds straight. Otherwise it ends

up all gnarled looking.

I'm doing a quilt with lots of teal, turquoise on the quilt top

so I am using King Tut (DeNile, I think) on the front. The

back is also teal/ turquoise. Superbobs does not come in a

color that is even close to turquoise so I wound my own

using the King Tut.

It looks good but I had to change the bobbin I wound before

I got thru the outside border. At this rate, I'll end up using

about 20 bobbins on this quilt. YIKES.

Does anybody besides Superior make pre-wound poly? I

sure wish Mr. Purcell would offer prewounds in all his Bottom Line colors.

Linda,

Great question. I don't know the answer, but hopefully somebody else will. I keep the prewounds here in black, white, and eggshell.

I have also started using King Tut thread quite a bit, and would like to have matching bobbins. I use the bobbin winder on my DSM to wind them, as I don't have a bobbin winder.
