Oh NO!! I broke my Millie

I think I ran over a pin I forgot to take out! The thread kept breaking so I changed the needle and when I push the button for needle down it goes down but won't come back up when I predss it again. It kind of tries to go sideways to the left. Where do I start?? Thanks for any suggestions. Carreen

sound like hitting the pin threw off your timing and the needle is getting stuck in the bobbin assembly/basket....unplug your machine, take the cover plate off and maunally rotate the fly wheel to see if it's hitting....directions for retiming (if ya needta) are in the manual....
