lovekidz
I use HObbs 80/20 and have been happy. I have a couple of applique quilts that I would like to use wool with and I think I have to use something with it. I know many of you use Quilters Dream and I would like to know which QD you use thanks Dotty
Quilting Heidi
Dotty, You only have to use something with wool if you are going to hang it. Wool can sag over time when hanging. You could use your Hobbs as your bottom layer. I like to use QD poly delux or poly select on the bottom if it is going to be a wall hanging. Lyn Heilman
Dottie, I use Hobbs 80/20 on the bottom and the wool on the top. The 80/20 will hold the loft of the wool to the top of the quilt creating more definition. The Hobbs wool when quilted densely will lay totally flat. Your applique &/or open areas will have a faux trapunto look. You can even use 2 layers of wool on top of the 80/20 for a more dramatic look. Please post pictures when you are done! NollR
I'm a Pellon Legacy gal, but you won't go wrong with the above advice. I do know when you double up the batting as suggested above the quilting is gorgeous! Good luck!!
