carriage wheels

Recommended Posts

I was going to tighten up my wheels (first time doing this), got out the book did some reading but when I got ready to change them I noticed that the narrow part on the cams are not in the same postion. If I'm facing the front of the machine the bolt on the left is set at 10 o'clock and the right one is at 4 o'clock, if I understand what I've been reading these should be set in the same postion ex: both at 9 o'clock. So before I did any adjusting I thought I'd come here for some advice first. Thanks in advance.

You are right, Terri. The cams should both be in the same position on each side. So if it's at 9:00 on one side, it should be 9:00 on the other side as well. Also, after you adjust them, make sure the bolt on the bottom of the wheels are snug. If they are loose, your machine will not move smoothly. You can have the wheels adjusted to wherever your machine will move the

easiest, just make sure they are the same on both sides and that the bolts on the bottom are not loose.
