I wish I could tell you what made things better but I followed Megs advice and started from scratch. I started by taking my rulermate off and cleaning "the snot" out of it. . Then I retimed and changed needles and loosened my tension and my quilt sandwich! Voila! It hasn't completely fixed the problem as it still breaks thread occasionally. But I'm at least getting some quilting done. I was almost ready to kick my Millie to the curb. We are getting along much better now and she has been given another chance. Thanks for all the advice.
