Neher-in-law5
I have been working on a quilt with a very thin silk batting, because it is so thin I am also using a very fine thread, Invisifil on top and bobbin. After a while my thread has been breaking with it frayed at the break. I wasn't sure what what causing it, so decided to cover the screw head that holds the last pigtail on the needle bar. The screw head is a phillips slot and I couldn't tell for sure if there were rough spots in the edges of the slots. After I covered it (I used a strip of sticky moleskin and wrapped it completely around the needle bar shaft) I was able to stitch a SID the full length of the quilt. Just another idea to try before frustration sets in.
