nannyt
I have gotten an "antique" dresden plate top in good condition that the owner wants quilted for her mother (made by her grandmother). Any suggestions for a semi-new quilter that would like to do feathers or cross-hatch but is very insecure, especially on something so precious? White Rooster
Do whatever you do best. If you are really good at pantographs then find one with an heirloom pattern. If you are really good at doing stencils then go with that. If feathers and crosshatch are what you do best then take a deep breath and go for it. An antique family quilt top is not the place to try out new techniques so go for something tried and true. It is quite an honor to have someone entrust us with a family heirloom and a daunting task as well. So, just give it your very best. Let us know what you decide and how it comes out. Good luck nannyt.
Kari
Jean - I'm curious what pantographs you would consider "heirloom". Kari Schell Brooklyn Park, MN
