Dianna Kihs
I would like to do a project using Metallic thread, can someone give me some advice, on needle size, brand of threads, tension adjustment and speed?
lisae
My favorite is Superior Metallics but I've also used YLI and other brands. Needle typically 3.5 or 4.0. I loosen the tension a bit. Use a slick thread in the bobbin like bottom line. I've had best success using the cone holder on top of the machine (add on accessory). Cones seem to work better than spools on the longarm. Also using Sewers Aid or some equivalent on the thread really cuts down on breakage. Hope this helps! have fun!
