Mary Beth
My dad told us the very same story - maybe it's true:o Or maybe they are related:P:D
Phyllis
Mary Beth, I love that barn. How about a permanent quilting retreat? Or the start of a quilting commune. A friend of the family told me that story when I was a teen-ager and I bit hook, line, and sinker.....until he got to the punch line.:P
Bonnie
Come on Shana....put all that Montana blood to use and I bet your poker face will just shine.:P:D My pop was a story teller as well.....I miss him too.
Carolyn
Nice picture! This barn reminds me of some we've seen in Ireland - complete with thatched roofs - and in full use by many barnyard residents! Carolyn
annlittle1
You know, I think it would have broken my heart if we had passed that barn and my dad didn't tell that story. We no longer have a reason to go to Tryon since both my parents are gone, so I haven't been by it in probably ten years. But if I see a round barn the story immediately pops into my head. Shana, let us know your DH's response. Since he's a man he's probably heard the story before. Mary, do you read "The Cat That......." books? The main character in the books lives in an old octagon shaped barn. It sounds like like it would be a great place to live. Of course, he's wealthy so he restored it and turned it into a home.
