jobuck
Hello everyone! Has anyone quilted on chenille? I have a project with alternating chenille and regular cotton blocks that are 5" square. What about a chenille backing? If possilbe, the quilting will be very simple.
Jeanette
I've never tried the chenille on the front, not that brave! But it is great as backing. I found a closeout on some 60" wide that was a hot rose color, very soft, and bought it for the backs of community service quilts. Doubtless they will all go to little girls due to the colors. Some chenille 'sheds' when washed and some of it will shed forever with each washing so it is kinda chancey depending on the quality. jobuck
Jeanette: Thank you for the information. I am glad to hear that the chenille works great on the back. I am a "sort of newbie". I will be trying the chenille on the front this week. I'll let you know how is goes. Wish me luck! The quilts (2) are for my high school buddies (class of '65). We meet every 5 years starting in 1997. It great fun! Jo-Ellen
