Today, I was quilting away and noticed my upper thread had broke and then continued stitching - leaving a gap of about 3/4" with no thread on top, with bottom thread stretched across the 3/4". This happened about 5 times on this quilt. The top thread must be breaking at a point after it goes through the needle - I don't get it! Any ideas out there? busybee Posted March 12, 2005 Report Share Posted March 12, 2005 check tension dics to see if loose thread or lint in it. Or Even in bobbin. Will cause some type of breakage. Or Thread is breaking .
