Catherine50
I'm new to this, and one of the quilts of my own that I want to do has scalloped edges. How do I load it onto the machine. The scallops are created by five bladed fans:D
Guest Linda S
Catherine - I am by no means an expert, but the one quilt I did with scalloped edges, I did as follows: I loaded the quilt top and basted across the top at the first spot that had no scallops, just to get my straight line. Then I used a very small amount of spray baste to afix the scalloped edges to the batting. I did my quilting in the area below the original basting first, to get a little more stability, then went back to the scalloped edges. It seemed to work out okay. I have to admit it wasn't my favorite thing to do. Perhaps some of the more experienced quilters can give you some better tips! Linda
quiltinmommy
I would suggest floating the top. don't pin at all until you have the back and bat pinned and taught good luck Laura
