Janey A. Smith
Hi all, here is my question. I was doing a panto with the stitch regulator and wasn't really happy with the circles, they had a slight edge to them but then I accidently went to non regulated and my circles were circles! I liked it much better. What is the deal with the regulator that it feels like I am pulling a frieght train? I like the freehand side of the machine so much better. I was so glad to get this quilt off my machine that I treated myself to a GT!!!hehe
Quilting Heidi
Janey, I also find that pantos are better without sr. I just have to find the right speed and when I do I write it on the panto. Usually a medium works well. I was very surprised and have no idea why it works that way. Sparkle
Hi Janey, I have an add on Intellistitch regulator on my 1999 Ultimate II machine. So, I really don't know how the APQS regulator works---but, if it offers a small stitch selection---the Intellistitch has one setting that makes very small stitches at the end of the dial---that is what I use in tight area, or to go around templates. Maybe you have a setting like this?
Janey A. Smith
Yes, I think I will go non regulated on them as well, Heidi....seems easier and more free. I don't have an Intellistitch , Sparkle...sounds like a good thing to have though. Thanks to you all. Janey
Quilting Heidi
Janey, We could set the stitches smaller. I usually have mine at 11 stitches per inch. Maybe that is the problem and I need to go smaller. I may just give it a try to see if it is any better but I really don't want to go smaller than that. I think it goes down further than that but that is just too tight of a stitch. Heidi
