Debra
Has anyone had trouble with the fabric jumping up and down as they quilt from the front? I have trouble and find it hard to see what I am quilting. I have loosened the fabric, made sure the hopper is a business card wideth from the bed and that the take up roller is a fingers wideth from the arm of the machine. I have a 1999 Utlitmate 1. If you can give me any advice I sure could use it. Going blind in Idaho. Debra
SueF
Hi Debra, Whenever I have had trouble with my fabric moving I lower the take up roller and make it just so the fabric will move and not drag. A women I took a class from showed me this and it seems to work.
jeri
Debra, since I started using pins instead of clamps mine quilts don't jump around. The pins keep my quilt nice and flat so that may be the culprit. Mine also used to jump a bit because I kept the tension on them too tight, try loosening your rollers one notch. jeri
maudie
I had this happen once when I was quilting on black and white checks - was making me nauseus! LOL I tucked a wad of batting under the fabric to tighten the fabric some and that helped.
Debra
Thank to everyone. I have tried all and have found some of them to help. I also lowered the hooper a little and adjusted the cams so that they ride in the middle more. I hope this wont reck the machine but it is working. Thank you Connie for your support as well. It is nice to have people care so much:)
