How to quilt Exquisite Star

I'm posting a picture of an Exquisite Star quilt (this one isn't mine - but I just put mine on the frame and can't take a decent picture). Would love to get your thoughts on how to quilt it.

Blocks are 14-1/2" square - so the spaces are huge. I thought of trying those a spiral in the large open spaces with those long skinny feathers. I spent the whole Gigi movie on Saturday night practicing them on my white board. Still can only do them from the the bottom up. I also thought about using the Feather Flow packet from Golden Threads. Any other thoughts?

I would use Nicole Webb's nuveau feathers from Beatimous Blocks book in the large open spaces. Here is the website. They are easy to do and very forgiving

Thanks for the suggestion - I ended up using those long feathers and was pleased with the final product. (Very similar to those on Nichole's site. See my webshots for the detail.
