Sheagatzi
This is the 2nd quilt that I have had a tension problem with - top thread looks great, bottom tension looks great. Pull it off the frame, and voila - on a 80 x 80 size quilt, I have about 6 to 8 random loops throughout the backing of the quilt. They are not in the points, but rather in the middle of a curve. I lasso them into the batting, but just wondering if anyone has ideas or suggestions about this? I used glide top and bottom for this quilt. I usually don't have issues with tension, but this one is puzzling me.
Busy Quilting
Did you have a net on the thread, Occasionally you can sense that the thread unwinds a little quicker and plops a bit extra thread. How old is your machine? Is the tension check spring starting to get weary?

maggienoella
That is frustrating for sure. I just went through something similar but I needed to tighten my tension a bit more. I hope you get it resolved speedy quick. Joan
micajah
if you are winding your own bobbins, try loosening the tension on the winder. Bobbins wound very tight will stick as it comes off the bobbin and make an occasional loop. Glide should not do it, but I guess anything can happen......
