zeke got a reaction from Gail O in CQ
Well, thought I was going to have to scrap my CQ last week. Finally had time to get it all set up and when I turned it on, nothing. Monitor went right to power down mode and no CQ. Tried everything I could think of. Even tried another computer. Still nothing. Then I tried a laptop and sha- bang. Shut it down and rebooked up the CQ. Success, back in business. Now I have to re-train myself on the system. It's been a while since I've used the CQ. I've been getting withdrawals as of late and now I'm ready to go again. Now I'm going to have to find a computer whiz to make me a new tower as a back up. Zeke.

I think that hippie stipple is quilted with long strands of hair instead of thread. zeke........

Lora, do yourself a favor and keep it. You ready don't have to remodel your kitchen if you have room in your garage. I've seen this in many a garage. You can even hook up a portable propane to it. This way you can turn the gas off when your not using it. It's just a thought to keep your mother beloved stove. Let "c" worry about the kitchen. It was willed to you and not her. Zeke.

You can also just zip tie them to the front axle if it's close enough. Zeke.

zeke got a reaction from MaryQuiltsTx in Do you quilt off of the edges of the quilt top?
1/8 the an inch. Nah!!!! As close to the edge as I can, almost off with a regular stitch. This way there will be no over lapping when the pressed foot comes back over the edge. I hate that. It takes a little practice, but once you learn it, it's cake mon. Zeke

KP, it's not really a wiggle stitch. It's a straight stitch as close to the edge as I can get. I've never done a wiggle stitch, but it does sound interesting. I have an UI and I set my speed at 3. Not too slow and not too fast. Just right for the purpose. Zeke.

zeke got a reaction from MaryQuiltsTx in info on a royal ken quilting machine with 14ft frame?
For all your info. Ken Quilt has new owners in California just southeast of Sacramento. I'll try to find out who the new owners are soon. I'll have to dig up my client list and make a few calls. Zeke.

zeke got a reaction from InesR in Poor stitch quality
Interesting on how this one got to the front of the line from 2 years ago. There are many reason why this happens. The check spring is out of wack or bad, bur on the hook or on one of the thread guilds or even a bad needle. There's also a bad spool of thread and sometimes it's just a simple fix of putting a piece of batten above the spool in the thread guild. And of course it could be the so called " Shepards hook" after the check spring, but normally when that is skipped you will get bad looping on the back. Anyways, take your pick and carefully inspect your machine for indiscretions. Zeke

zeke got a reaction from quilterkp in ATTENTION: ZEKE
Hey Darlene. I have to go get a Zip drive later before work and I'll send you off a few updates. Personally, I prefer the 5.071. It still has the hot keys when the last update, 5.57.07, does not. Send me your address on a personal message and I'll get it out to you asap. Zeke.
That's roxie my shepherd. I thought you might enjoy her cute face.

zeke got a reaction from InesR in Ideas anyone?
I would do some micro-stippling in the background and ditch the three towers of stips. Then I would quilt echoing feathers in the outside border. As for the inside border I would quilt a small little leaf pattern and the small squared triangles would be ditched as well. That will make it pop to the eye. But that's just me. Zeke.

On warm and natural the backing side is always on the inside. I mean on the folded side. If you take it off the bolt or out of the package the backing side is going to be on the inside fold. If your careful you can actually pull back the scrim and see it. Hopefully this makes sense, because I'm sick and my head feels like it's going to pop. Zeke.

Lora, send in both. Then you'll have two new motors instead of just one. The other one will crap out eventually and you'll end up doing the same thing AGAIN. Zeke.

That's a deal. I picked one up about 9 months ago in Southern California for $1000. Now that was a deal, but only the machine and carriage. Zeke.

zeke got a reaction from quilterkp in How many quilts per month?
KP. That was in the late 90's and into most of the 2000's. We also did craft shows and sold many quilts and that was in California. We're now in North Carolina and I'm thinking of picking up where we left off in California. I was what you would call a quilting mule. Sometimes I would do 7 quilts ina day. They weren't big, but they had to be done for a craft show. Zeke.

Back in the day I was doing about 10 to 15 a week. That would be a mixture of custom and pants quilts. Zeke.
