MarieBrewer
When I move my carriage forward and back when I have the base extender on, it seems to "hit" the front roller that has the quilt top rolled up on it and the leveler bar in the back. I have to pull/push to get the base extender under these bars. Is the problem that I have the bars too close to the extender top? Without the extender, I can push my index finger under the leveler bar to the first joint. Should the bars be moved just for the extender? Thanks-Marie
Jhend
Hi Marie, I have a Millie and had the same problem. I adjusted the top roller up a little and it gave some room, but I wouldn't force the extender under the bars. I've learned to stop in needle down position and advance the quilt a bit if I need to just finish a small loop or something. I'm also getting better a judging how far I can go before I hit the bars so I can stop prior and move the quilt instead of hitting it and getting squared off stitches. Other than that, I'm not sure there is much more you can do about it. Hope this helps some. A not so newbie anymore Joanne
mrsbishwit
This is a common problem when you use the base extender, you will loose a few inches off your available stitching field. You'll get use to it eventually. Joann
Myrna Ficken
Yes. this is normal when using a base. You do get used to the area you can travel. Myrna
