rebelette67
Has anyone bought the APQS extended baseplate from Off the Edge Quilting? If so, are you happy with it? I'm using rulers more and more and think this plate would be a good addition to my APQS Millenium. Thank you!
roberta
I use the extended baseplate. I got it from APQS but can't tell you who it is from. I find it to be a must for ruler work. When I first got it I had a problem that it kept hitting the bar in front. Turns out that I did not have my table leveled properly so it helped me in more ways than one. My quilting was much better once I got my table leveled . p.s. - I have a Lenni.
rebelette67
This one is different from the metal one I have seen on a Gammill in that it is clear acrylic. Also, it snaps on so the needle plate does not have to be removed. The metal one I saw on the Gammill did the same thing - had a lever on the bottom to snap it on but wasn't acrylic. These differences seem to be an advantage over the older models so I'm going to give it a whirl! The base is not cheap so I hope it works as good as the metal ones. Thank you for your input, Roberta and I hope this day finds you happily quilting.
Gator
It looks a lot like the Hartley Base Plate sold by APQS and some of the reps. The Hartley Base comes with some guides (same price). I love and use mine all the time, in fact I rarely take it off my machine.
roberta
Mine is acrylic too and it just slides onto the machine. I just went it to look it over and it is the Hartley Base Plate... I really do like it. Happy quilting to you too.
