dianne
Okay, I have a picture and a post all in the same box - and I was hoping for some input on ideas for quilting. I would like to do some custom work but am having some difficulty with how to work with the 5 borders, hand appliqued stars and that feathered star in the middle. The quilt measures 80 x 100. To everyone who helped me get photos up and online - thanks so much!!
Bonnie
Here is her picture blown up...maybe somone has so ideas....I would SID the saw tooth border...SID the two small borders, McTavish the green center, and do a different background in the off white/light blue areas...some kind of stencil design of feathers in the blocks. and then I run out of ideas. Quilting Heidi
I agree with Bonni except in the 3rd border I would do feathered hearts to make those heart shapes stand out. In the outside border you could do a all-over flower border.
quiltmonkey
Is this the Marti Michell pattern? It looks familiar to me. I see all sorts of lovely ways you can embellish the piecing in the blocks. Definitely custom quilting on this one! Have you checked webshots? Feathered Star Medallion by Marti Michell... I found some on websiots: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2042893320068568290UvtIjc http://www.webshots.com/search?query=Feathered+Star+Medallion&new=1&source=search_results_top
